Where do we begin? From celebrating excellence in academic-business collaboration to marking our 18th year in business, there’s a lot of news to share with you!

40 Years of KTP

Last week we were honoured to attend the University of Reading’s ’40 Years of KTP’ event.

We were there, along with a selection of fellow local businesses who had enjoyed successful Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), to showcase our own experience of the KTP and the doors it has opened for Hireserve.

‘[KTP] promotes, builds and encourages collaboration through and after the project ends…’
–
Karen Ovenden

There were presentations from the award-winning Knowledge Transfer Centre team, past associates and the Vice-Chancellor, who said that the KTP was now ‘stronger than ever before’.

Karen was also asked to present at the event, along the theme of ‘Why I love KTP’, and reflected on what makes the KTP scheme so beneficial to SMEs, graduates and Universities.

It was a great night of celebrations, and we remain very proud of our relationship with the Knowledge Transfer Centre team at the University of Reading.

Women in Business Awards

More celebrations last week, as Karen and Emma attended the Women in Business 2015 awards.

Celebrating the achievements of business women across the Thames Valley and Solent regions, the awards spanned categories from ‘Rising Star’ to ‘Enlightened Employer’.

Karen was delighted to be a finalist at the awards in the Business Woman of the Year (SME) category, and to have her work around academic-business collaboration, flexible working and the day-to-day running of Hireserve recognised.

Our huge congratulations to all winners on the night and fellow finalists!

Introducing: Hireserve ATS

We were proud to announce the new name for our Applicant Tracking System earlier this week.

‘As the business comes of age, it’s time for a stronger, more relevant name for our product. Renaming iCams as Hireserve ATS will allow us to focus on marketing, selling and developing one core premise: Hireserve. – Jeremy Ovenden, Founder and Managing Director, Hireserve

Cake, balloons…must be a birthday

And last but not least, we celebrated 18 years in business yesterday.

Kicking off with cupcakes and a homemade card on everyone’s desks, we spent time yesterday hearing from Karen and Jeremy about how one simple sentence – ‘Karen, I’ve had an idea…’ – kickstarted this company into life.

Yesterday was also the official unveiling of our ’18 Years of Hireserve’ video, created for us by our extremely talented work experience placement, Beatrice.

Sharing our memories of 1997, birthday parties and what Hireserve means to us, it’s a real celebration of the humans behind Hireserve.

So, 18 years on, and with a team of wonderful people, leading recruitment software and an inspiring customer base, it’s time to say happy birthday Hireserve!
