Leading recruitment software provider, Hireserve, is celebrating 18 years in business. A UK Tech and SME success story, Hireserve was founded in 1997 by Jeremy and Karen Ovenden, both of whom continue to manage the business today.

In tandem with its 18th year in business, Hireserve today announced that it is renaming its Applicant Tracking System. Known for over a decade as ‘iCams’, Hireserve is launching a new name to support the business’ continued growth plans. Hireserve’s product will now be known as Hireserve ATS.

‘As the business comes of age, it’s time for a stronger, more relevant name for our product. Renaming iCams as Hireserve ATS will allow us to focus on marketing, selling and developing one core premise: Hireserve.

The features and functionality of our Applicant Tracking System will remain unchanged, as will the service and support to our customers.’
– Jeremy Ovenden, Founder and Managing Director, Hireserve

First founded when e-recruitment was in its infancy, Jeremy identified a gap in the market for an internet candidate management database. Started at the kitchen table and with a young family, it was ten years before the company moved into a shared office and hired its first employee.

Hireserve has since grown rapidly, with over 20 employees in the UK office and with a Dutch subsidiary. Customers include CERN, Arriva, RNLI, Cranfield University and Global Radio, whilst the business is also partnered with global ERP Vendor Unit4.

‘Since Hireserve’s founding, we have steadily built a product and reputation of which we can be proud. We’ve been at the forefront of an ever-changing, exciting industry for almost two decades, and have come out the other side of common start-up challenges – not to mention the effects of the UK recession.

I am incredibly proud of our product, customer base and team, without whom we could not have achieved 18 years in business.”
– Jeremy Ovenden, Hireserve

Hireserve has been recognised for its progressive approach towards flexible working and support for working families in nationwide awards schemes such as the Workingmums.co.uk awards.

The business also has strong links with the University of Reading and is an active supporter of Academic-Business collaboration between SMEs and Universities, in order to enhance employability in graduates and young people.
