This week we ran our first ever sector specific software support clinic aimed specifically at higher education recruitment.

Our customer, Cranfield University, kindly hosted the event with customers attending from The University of Wolverhampton, The University of York, The University of Northampton and Goldsmiths, University of London.

As a recruitment software provider to lots of universities, colleges and educational establishments, we have been able to pinpoint the challenges that HE organisations face with their higher education recruitment and are able to configure Hireserve ATS to fulfil their niche set of requirements.

Recruitment within the higher education sector can be considered a challenge because of the high volume of employees and many often have constant recruitment in place. For The University of York with 3,500 current employees and with the outlook to expand, Hireserve ATS helps the HR team manage their higher education recruitment effectively.

“With such substantial expansion plans, we wanted an e-recruitment solution that would deliver flexibility, cope with the demands of increased volumes of roles and candidates and support the University’s changing recruitment needs.” – Rob Hargrave, The University of York

Earlier this year HR project manager at The University of York, Rob Hargrave, presented at our annual User Group and talked about two of the more bespoke features of Hireserve ATS, Job Specific Questions and automated referencing, two tools which have helped transform his team’s recruitment processes.

Hireserve ATS not only provides solutions for large numbers of active vacancies but also enables universities to attract and recruit the best possible talent.

“The recruitment of the best possible staff is vital for the University’s drive to continue to improve its position as one of the leading postgraduate research centres in the world.” – Jo Catterill, Cranfield University

The clinic enabled customers to spend time with members of the team to discuss any queries, share their best practice and gain any additional support they need to get the best from their system. Service excellence is hugely important to us as an organisation. We will always try and go the extra mile to ensure our customers are offered the support they need.

We sent a team member from Support & Services, Implementation, the Back End Development team and the Front End team to the HE Clinic, in order to make sure all areas were covered so that no questions could go unanswered.

The clinic was not only a way for customers to gain one-to-one support but also a great opportunity for the universities to share their recruitment challenges and network with other organisations from the same sector.

The feedback was hugely encouraging and we’re pleased that our higher education customers benefited from this time with the Hireserve team. We look forward to hosting another support clinic later this year.
